Volt 4P MAX gives you three Tone Shaping Preamp modes across its four 60dB-gain preamps. Warmth, Focus, and Shine provide harmonic characters inspired by tube, solid-state, and British Class-A microphone preamps, helping you establish the right starting point before audio reaches your software.
Max dynamics processing adds another layer, with six realtime compressor presets tuned for sources including vocals, guitar, and bass. Combining the Tone and Max settings gives you more than 18 character combinations. And with processing available across four channels, you can shape several sources during the same recording session without building complicated software processing chains first.
Recording at up to 32-bit/192kHz, Volt 4P MAX is designed to retain the detail in your performances. Four mic/line inputs let you track up to four sources simultaneously, making the interface particularly useful for bands, drums, and sessions involving several musicians. Two front-panel Hi-Z connections also let you plug instruments straight in.
Each channel gets independent 48V phantom power for compatible condenser microphones. Auto-Gain helps establish appropriate input levels in seconds, while Clip Protection responds to unexpected signal peaks. Clear speaker monitoring and two studio-quality headphone outputs then help you keep track of performances throughout recording and mixing.
A desktop interface does not have to limit your setup. Alongside its analogue connections, Volt 4P MAX provides an optical input supporting ADAT or S/PDIF, with ADAT allowing up to eight additional digital input channels.
MIDI In and Out make it straightforward to connect controllers, synthesizers, and other MIDI equipment, while the onboard USB hub can accommodate peripherals and power external MIDI controllers. Main and Alt speaker switching also lets you move between two monitor sets.
