Every aspect of the original architecture has been carefully preserved, allowing you to experience the response and tonal behaviour that defined the hardware. The instrument includes accurate models of the Rev1 and Rev2 SSM-based designs alongside the Rev3 Curtis filter revision, each with its own envelope characteristics and sonic personality. Regardless if you’re looking to inject vintage-inspired textures or more focused and punchy analogue tones, you can move between multiple generations of Prophet-5 sound without leaving the plugin.
The original Prophet-5 is known for its direct workflow, and GForce builds on that foundation with a redesigned X-Modifiers system. Dedicated envelopes and LFOs can be assigned to almost any parameter, making it easy to introduce movement, evolving textures, and performance-based modulation. This added flexibility opens up sound design possibilities beyond the original hardware while maintaining a clear and accessible interface. From subtle filter animation to complex evolving patches, you can create detailed sounds without sacrificing the immediacy that made the original instrument so popular.
The dual-layer architecture adds a powerful new dimension to the Prophet-5 experience. Each layer can operate independently with up to 10 voices, allowing you to combine sounds for larger textures or separate them across the keyboard using Split mode. Alternate mode switches between layers as you play, creating dynamic and varied performances. Independent arpeggiators and chord modes for each layer provide additional creative options for sequencing and composition.
A comprehensive effects section helps you take sounds from raw synthesis to finished production. Two selectable effects slots are complemented by dedicated delay, reverb, and pan spread processors, while additional options include chorus, phaser, filtering, distortion, tremolo, and compression. Extensive MIDI CC mapping makes hardware integration straightforward, and full MPE compatibility allows compatible controllers to transmit detailed pitch, pressure, and timbral information. Combined with the powerful preset browser and more than 460 professionally designed sounds, the Prophet-5 fits naturally into modern production workflows while retaining the character of the original instrument.
