The Arturia Pitch Shifter-910 is a plugin recreation of a hardware pitch-shifting unit, designed to add grit and texture to your vocal tracks. Modelled on one of the earliest digital pitch processors, it recreates the artefacts and character that defined early pitch shifting, while adding modern DSP flexibility for modern mixing and recording sessions.
Use +/- 12 semitone pitch control and formant shaping to craft subtle doubles, tight harmonies, or bold tonal shifts. MIDI In lets you trigger up to four notes at once, turning a single vocal line into a playable harmony. Switch to Pitched Delay to feed repeats back through the shifter for rising or falling trails that build movement and tension. Add Drive at the input for harmonic colour, then widen everything with Dual or Unison Voice modes for quick stereo spread and detuned thickness.

Pitch SHIFTER-910 captures the sound and behaviour of early digital pitch processing, including the quirks and artefacts that gave it personality. You get up to ±12 semitones of pitch adjustment through a carefully recreated signal path, so you can dial in everything from subtle thickening to obvious transposition. Choose between Vintage 10 for a more traditional signal flow or Vintage 24 for a cleaner, emulated response. Link pitch and formant for recognisable hardware-style tones, or separate them to push towards more natural correction or deliberately exaggerated effects.
With MIDI In enabled, you can control pitch using incoming notes, in mono or Poly 4. That means you can double a melody, build chords, or create moving harmonies that follow your performance. Envelope controls such as Attack and Release help shape how the effect responds, while Glide smooths transitions between notes. You can also route velocity, pitch bend, and mod wheel for expressive changes in real time. It feels less like a static insert and more like an instrument inside your session.
The Delay section goes beyond simple repeats. In standard Delay mode, you get a classic echo path for rhythmic space. Switch to Pitched Delay and the repeats are routed back through the Shifter, creating rising, falling, or harmonically shifting feedback lines. This is ideal for transitions, breakdowns, and evolving textures that need to feel alive. High- and low-pass filtering keeps repeats focused in the mix, while Offset adds stereo movement when used on stereo tracks.
A dedicated input stage lets you set gain and introduce Drive for added harmonic richness, with a curve tailored for vocals. A clipping indicator helps you keep levels under control. On the output side, Dry/Wet (with Mix Lock) makes it easy to balance the processed and original signal, whether you want gentle enhancement or full pitch control. Brightness adjusts the overall tonal tilt, helping the effect sit forward or blend back as needed, while Voice modes provide fast access to dual-mono widening or dense, detuned layering.
