The CP 88 is an ideal choice for the piano purists. As it allows you to play with the fullest expression.
Whether you're playing classical, jazz or pop, the CP88 offers a rich palette of acoustic grand and upright piano sounds sourced from Yamaha’s finest instruments—including the CFX, S700 and Bösendorfer Imperial 290. You also get a solid collection of electric pianos and keyboard voices, all designed to respond to your touch and dynamics with clarity and depth. Each sound is powered by AWM2 and Spectral Component Modelling to reproduce detailed, expressive tones.
The CP88 features an 88-key Natural Wood Graded Hammer keyboard that mimics the feel of a real acoustic piano. Each key is weighted with a graded action that gets lighter as you move up the keyboard, and the triple sensor setup ensures precise response to fast or nuanced playing. With synthetic ebony and ivory tops, every key also provides a secure grip under your fingers, especially useful during long sets or live gigs.
Speed matters when you're on stage. That’s why the CP88’s interface is designed to be direct and distraction-free. You can split sounds across the keyboard, layer instruments together and tweak key parameters with dedicated controls—all without leaving the main panel. Real-time sliders for EQ, effects and part levels mean you stay in command of your sound without diving through complex settings mid-performance.
Despite its premium features, the CP88 is made to be practical. Its aluminium chassis balances lightweight build with robust durability, perfect for touring players. Balanced XLR and standard jack outputs make connection to live sound systems easy and clean, while stereo inputs let you mix in other sources like a second keyboard or playback device. The included foot pedal and MIDI/USB ports round out a full set of stage-ready tools.
