The Walrus Audio Fable Reverb / Granular Soundscape Generator is a tool to transform your musical approach. It creates wild new soundscapes that can range from smooth, ambient reverbs to chaotic, glitchy swarms to spice up your sonic palette. To create these, it's equipped with top-end pedal architecture to voice your effect with both authenticity and accuracy. A powerful DSP combines delay programs which run in series with granular sampling algorithms - each with their own feedback path!
This magical granular effect is a micro sampling of your signal, where short samples (or "grains") are read from a delay buffer. From there, you modify the grains to create any number of unique sounds - manipulate their length, their position, and the buffer size from which they're read! That's not all though, you can even adjust their speed and pitch or play them in reverse! The possibilities are almost endless with the Walrus Audio Fable, so what kind of sounds will you generate?

Armed with the Fable's powerful pedal architecture, you can create all-new, groundbreaking sonics. From mellow and flowing ambience to randomised hailstorms of glitchy pulses, the Fable will massively expand your creative toolkit.
Your desired effect is achieved through the five program presets which determine how the Fable interacts with your signal:
- Program 1: Reverse Delay into Reverse Granular. Creates a complex and organically shifting soundscape, adjust the Gain to take it from smooth reversed transients to stuttering reverse glitch madness.
- Program 2: Forward Delay into Octave Up Granular. Sample grains are played at double speed, leading to swarms of double-speed grains building up to a cascade of sound.
- Program 3: Analog Delay into Octave Down Granular. Runs a warm, dark analogue-style delay into an octave-down granular program to create thunderous and murky soundscapes.
- Program 4: Multi-Tap Granular into Multi-Tap Granular (Grain-Verb). Samples are played back from each granular buffer simultaneously. Multiple points of sampled sound build upon each other in the feedback paths to create glitchy clouds and unique organic reverberances.
- Program 5: Forward Delay into Randomised Pitch Granular. Each grain is played back at a randomly selected speed and direction, varying between pitched up double speed, pitched down half speed and normal speed. All that in addition to forward or reversed playback from grain to grain, and pitch changes with each new grain to create utter tonal madness. The X control affects that rate of randomised pitch modulation.
You can then fine tune each of these program modes with additional parameters to land on sounds ranging from mellow to monstrous!
