The latest addition to the AIRA range from Roland, the SP-404A provides added functionality and a range of new ways to play with your sounds. The SP-404A bases its design on the renowned SP-404SX sampler, ideal for a range of production and live performance applications. The SP-404A is designed to work in conjunction with the Roland AIRA TR-8 Rhythm Performer, providing the perfect combination of samples and percussive synthesis.
As well as being the ideal companion for the AIRA TR-8, it can also function as a standalone performance sampler. With its range of built in DSP effects and performance pads, the Linear Wave Sampler is the perfect companion sampler for the Roland TR-8 Rhythm Composer.
The Roland SP-404A provides you with 12 professional-grade performance pads, that react with precision when struck. As well as being able to trigger from the TR-8 Rhythm Performer, the SP-404A can also be used as a standalone unit. It includes 16-bit linear sampling for optimal audio fidelity and performance, allowing you to incorporate your own sounds as well as the included premium-grade samples from Loopmasters.
It also includes 29 onboard DSP effects for adding flare and character to your samples and live performance. The DSP effects range from reverbs and delays to flangers and more. The integrated pattern sequencer is ideal for creating complex rhythms and sequences that can be used in live performances, as well as studio settings.
The highly compact design of the SP-404A Linear Wave Sampler makes it ideal for use on the road. The portable design will easily fit within your backpack, allowing you to take your sampler wherever you go. As well as being ideal as a standalone sampler and an expansive sampler for the Roland TR-8, the Rhythm Performer can be used as an audio sub-mixer and processing unit for the Linear Wave Sampler.
Once configured, the TR-8 can apply effects to all the samples playing on the SP-404A for added functionality such as reverse, glitch, gate stutter and more. The samples can also be controlled by the TR-8's Side Chain function for gating-type effects.
