Taking qualities from its legendary peer the C535, the AKG C636 provides vocalists with a pure studio sound suitable for even the most diverse live performances. Knowing the harsh environment of the live stage, AKG have designed the C636 microphone to efficiently reject high amounts of handling noise, pop noise, and interfering feedback. AKG ensured the design and construction of the C636 didn't undermine its flawless sound and integrated a proprietary double shock suspension system that reduces handling noise drastically even with the most hands on performances.

The 24-karat gold-plated capsule includes a highly absorbent rubber bearing to resist structure-made noise and an adjustable balanced network eliminates vibrations over a wide frequency range. Finally, the condenser microphone by AKG contains a brass layer just below the capsule to improve stability and emit cleaner acoustics. All housed in a robust zinc alloy shell and its made absolutely certain that the AKG C636 is tour-ready and will offer reliability performance after performance.

Efficient feedback elimination

Uniform cardioid polar patterns give microphones the most sensitivity within the front of the mic and the least in the back. The pick-up pattern offers resistance to unwanted ambient noise and feedback, making them ideal for loud, busy stages. The C636 moves one step further in feedback elimination by adding a specially designed suspension and grille for the capsule. The intuitive approach to the construction of the capsule rejects unwanted sound reflections on the back of the capsule as this is the most common cause for feedback in other microphones.

Triple layered pop noise protection

Gathering feedback from their audience, AKG designed the C636 to deliver clear and pop-free vocal performances to singers. The condenser microphone features a multi-layer protection system and consists of the grille, a foam layer behind the grille and a computer-modeled mesh layer at the top of the capsule. This innovative triple-layer protection system is primarily unique to the AKG brand and is extremely rare among microphones within the same price range.
